![]() There are way, way too many characters on the screen for this fighting system to support, and nothing has been done to improve the traversal controls to stop the many frustrations that can happen when trying to escape by climbing or if a two-inch step impedes your path. It's fun to see a betrayal now and then, to illustrate that being a leader means a lot of work, but getting betrayed over and over in the same day makes it too obvious that this was maybe 50% about our entertainment and 50% about stretching out the game (and maybe a vestige from when WB was trying to eke microtransaction money out of people to buy upgrades). For every fun moment where multiple incidents converge on the one fight and send things out of control, there's one that feels like a another cheap way to stretch out the game. And thanks to the A button being everything from "run" to "dodge" to "vault" to "climb", it was impossible to get out of there.Īnd the game does this all the time. into the tiny structure in which we were fighting. Oddly, though, he'd acquired a bunch of new skills including the ability to blow a horn and summon a dozen Orog heavies plus more orcs. I'd heard that shaming them too many times leads to mental problems, but this Orog tank was drooling and incoherent the next time I saw him. What would have been okay? 25? Sadly I no longer give a damn.Įarlier in the game, I tried Shaming a too-high character that I wanted. Final straw was beating a level 26 captain just now with Talion at level 22, where the captain had an absurdly large entourage, and when I finally got him he was still too high. An Outlaw Captain Wants To Challenge You! Great, but I don't know until I meet them if it's worth Tracking Challenge on that armour that unlocks upgrading with the acquisition of a 20+ Outlaw captain until I start the mission and he is revealed, and then I have to remember the abstract nature of a too-high level. It's intentionally designed to make an already grindy game even grindier. ![]() Why? Is this fun?Īnd of course it's not fun. My only options are Murder or Shame: i.e. What? Surely the fact that I beat them means their level isn't too high. There is no reward for me being level 21 and taking out a level 35 opponent, because it won't let me claim them for the army because "their level is too high". They claimed to have trimmed out the grind since this game was released, but it's still riddled with it. But I hate Shadow of War, and just uninstalled it. Shadow of War is better in so many ways than Shadow of Mordor. If it would not be included, I might reconsider.but then again the overall theme was one I was trying to move away from, and was looking for some more positively minded titles.vs all the nonsensical death destruction ones.which I do not enjoy.I guess the "exploration" was more of interest to me vs the fighting part. I never tried either one of ankly when I saw them originally they reminded me way too much of the batman games.which I did not enjoy, for many reasons.as to deunovo, I guess its a pass on these 2 titles then.I do not support these kinds of software. ![]() I would say if you enjoyed Shadow of Mordor then there's no reason you wouldn't enjoy Shadow of War. ![]() It seems to offer a more refined experience with smoother combat and a greater variety of environments. Originally posted by Mountain Man:Deunovo is copy protection, not spyware, and, yes, according to the Steam page, it's included with this game.īut as far as which game is better, I would lean towards Shadow of War.
